George Norcross, a significant political figure in New Jersey, is contemplating legal action following his ejection from the Eagles game on Sunday. The Eagles assert that Norcross was repeatedly asked to take down a flag he had displayed outside a suite and instead of complying, they claim he became “physically and verbally aggressive.” Norcross dismissed the Eagles’ statement, calling the claims “ridiculous.”
The New Jersey political boss and influential figure, George Norcross III, asserts that he was forcibly removed from the Eagles-Cowboys game at Lincoln Financial Field because he refused to take down a combined American and Israeli flag.
Norcross stated that he hung a U.S.-Israel flag outside the suite where he was seated during the game.
The entity known as Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization by multiple countries and organizations, including the United States, the European Union, Israel, Canada, and others.
The reasons why the Eagles/NFL consider the display of the US-Israeli flag as ‘offensive or inappropriate’ or in any way unsuitable — which is what I was warned for — and should therefore be taken down despite both issuing public statements strongly supporting Israel following the October 7th attacks,” Norcross wrote.
“But as I consider whether to take legal action against the Philadelphia Eagles, the NFL, and the security company that removed me from the suite and displayed me in front of thousands of fans, I encourage other supporters of Israel to express their opinions to the team and the NFL just as they have to universities like Penn and Harvard.”
The Eagles team stated that Norcross’ removal from the stadium was not related to the content of his sign but instead the team’s rule prohibiting any signage with non-game messages being displayed from a stadium suite, as reported by the Philadelphia Business Journal.

“The Eagles stated that they repeatedly asked Mr. Norcross to take down the sign he put up outside the suite. Instead of following the request, Mr. Norcross became physically and verbally aggressive. He was removed from the stadium due to his ongoing abuse towards stadium staff. He was escorted from the suite level to the stadium’s exit, similar to anyone engaging in abusive behavior against stadium policy.
In response to the Eagles’ claims of his abusive behavior, he countered:
“This is an obvious and silly attempt to divert attention from their removal of a flag supporting the United States and Israel after the Oct 7th attacks. The video shows no evidence of any ‘physical abuse’ by me, and there were 15 people in the box, including licensed law enforcement members, who can confirm there was no physical abuse by me. The only aggression I faced was from the Eagles/NFL security who physically restrained me and locked my arm behind my back.”
Regarding the accusations of verbal abuse, he explained:
“I was indeed extremely upset that the team would handle people in such a way and that the Eagles/NFL leadership didn’t show the same support for Israel as they have for other civil rights issues and global conflicts.”
City spokeswoman Sarah Peterson mentioned that Norcross was in the Mayor’s Box during Sunday’s game. A representative of Norcross confirmed that Mayor Jim Kenney did enter the box at one point and asked Norcross to remove the flag.
Norcross holds significant influence as one of New Jersey’s influential Democratic power brokers. He also serves as an executive at insurance broker Conner Strong & Buckelew and chairs the board of Camden’s Cooper University Hospital and health system.”
