Ananya Panday’s latest appearance was in the film titled “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.”
Ananya Panday, also known as Ahaana, is currently enjoying the success of her recent OTT release, “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.” She expresses profound happiness, gratitude, and a sense of love.
Panday emphasizes feeling validated not just as an actor but also validated in her decision to choose the film and the character choices she made as Ahaana. Directed by Arjun Varain Singh, the film has garnered praise for its relatability. Panday is delighted that audiences not only noticed but appreciated the subtle nuances in her performance. Above all, she is pleased that viewers found solace in her character.
Reflecting on the film’s unexpected popularity, the 25-year-old expresses, “We were proud and excited about it, but never anticipated the overwhelming love it received, which is truly wonderful. We all discussed how the film felt theatrical due to the quick responses, as everyone watched it instantly around New Year’s.”
The movie delves into the intricacies of modern relationships in the era of social media, resonating with the audience. Panday emphasizes, “When we, as actors, initially signed up, we deeply connected with every aspect of the film. People found even the smallest details relatable, such as their interactions, how they spend time, hangouts at specific places, and just the way the world is right now – with social media becoming the fourth character in everyone’s life and how relationships have been affected in this time.”
Ask her if the trio of him, Adarsh Gaurav, and Siddhant Chaturvedi share the same strong camaraderie off-screen, and she responds, “Off-screen, we are just as we appeared on screen. Sid and Aadarsh are now Neil and Amaad for me; I can’t imagine them any other way. We underwent numerous workshops together because our director wanted to ensure that everything appeared natural.”
“The ultimate icebreaker happened when we went to Goa to shoot the first song, ‘Hone Do Jo Hota Hai,’ which I actually recorded on my phone. They provided us with scooters and sent us to bars and beaches. All of it was real, and I happened to capture everything on my phone, which we later turned into a song,” Panday reveals.
Ask the Gehraiyan actress about her approach to handling speculation surrounding her personal and professional life on social media. She shares, “I’ve grown up in the era of social media. Instagram and other platforms started when I was a teenager, so I don’t know a world without it.” Continuing, she reflects on her past engagement with social media, stating, “Before becoming an actor, I enjoyed sharing aspects of my life with a small group of friends on a private account. However, as I’ve aged and entered the professional sphere, I’ve found myself leaning towards more privacy, both personally and professionally. At this stage, I’m more excited for people to experience my work rather than constantly sharing personal details. It varies from person to person; everyone has to navigate social media in a way that suits them. It’s a beast that we must accept without taking it too seriously.”
Regarding her future projects, especially after portraying the innocent girl in projects like Dream Girl 2, Panday expresses her desire to take on roles with more complexity. She states, “I want to delve into characters that exist in the gray areas, not easily classified as black or white. In today’s world, it’s simple to stereotype people, and I want to occupy the middle ground. I aim to portray characters that mirror real-life individuals, offering relatability.” Looking ahead, she acknowledges her early career stage and the vast possibilities ahead, saying, “I aspire to participate in significant commercial cinema because, as an audience member, I love watching such films. Additionally, I have a keen interest in taking on a biopic, perhaps of a sportsperson or a classical singer or dancer, where I can immerse myself in learning a specific skill.”
