The grand finale of Bigg Boss Telugu Season 7 on Sunday witnessed more off-screen drama than on-screen.
Amardeep’s car faced an assault from individuals who identified themselves as followers of Pallavi on Instagram.
The final episode of Bigg Boss Telugu Season 7, hosted by Nagarjuna, aired on Sunday. Prior to the show’s debut, there was a leak indicating that Pallavi Prashanth, a ‘common man’ participant, emerged as the winner of the Bigg Boss trophy. As customary every year, a large number of fans gathered at the Annapurna Studios, eagerly awaiting the contestants to make their post-show appearances. However, this time, purported fans of the declared winner attacked the cars of some contestants.
Videos surfaced on social media, causing concern among fans of other contestants. Despite police protection at the studios, some individuals attacked the contestants’ cars. Amardeep, the runner-up who lost to Pallavi, and his family appealed to the crowd to let them through, but the attackers not only damaged Amardeep’s car, which had his family inside, but also shattered the rear window before they could leave. They also targeted the windows of other ex-contestants’ cars and an RTC bus, as reported by Gulte.
Despite the traumatic incident, Amardeep appeared unfazed as he celebrated with fans later that night. He cut a cake, danced to dhol music, and energized the crowd, expressing gratitude to everyone who voted for him. He also mentioned his excitement about meeting Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja.
Ashwini and Geetu, former contestants, also experienced car vandalism by individuals claiming to be Pallavi’s fans. Both filed police complaints at Jubilee Hills police station.
Ashwini, eliminated three weeks prior, shared with iDream Media, “After the finale, we were informed about a mob outside. We waited for hours, but even the police couldn’t control the crowd. I worked hard to buy my car, and it’s disheartening that it was vandalized.”
Geetu, a contestant from Bigg Boss Telugu season 6, told a YouTube channel at Madhapur station, “We can’t call these people Pallavi’s fans because real fans don’t behave this way. When I asked them not to vandalize the car, they pulled my hands. It was extremely indecent. I am still paying my car’s EMI, and I almost cried.”
Regarding the winner, Pallavi received the highest number of votes and won a cash prize of ₹35 lakh. Hailing from a Telangana village, he comes from a farming family. Pallavi faced tough competition, surpassing contestants like Amardeep, Arjun Ambati, Priyanka Jain, Sivaji, and Prince Yawar to claim the trophy.
