Superstar Rajinikanth celebrates his birthday on December 12. While he may exhibit signs of aging in reality, on-screen, he remains the indomitable Superstar Rajini for his fans. After all, who else can silence a critic with a straightforward punch dialogue like, “En vazhi, thani vazhi! (My way is my own)”? Many individuals who grew up in the 90s have aspired to wear sunglasses like Rajini by breaking them. Bollywood superstars are not lagging behind in expressing their admiration for the iconic star, and it’s easy to understand why!
Rajini sir is irreplaceable: Aamir Khan Some may not recall that Aamir Khan was considered for the lead part in Shankar’s 2.0, the follow-up to Robo. However, the actor declined the role not due to the script, but because he believed no one else could portray Vaseegaran and Chitti. Speaking to ETC Bollywood in 2017, he mentioned, “Rajini sir felt at that time that he wasn’t fit enough to shoot for the film and suggested that Shankar bring me in. But, when I visualized, I could only envision Rajini sir in the role; he’s irreplaceable. I’ve gone through the script, the movie will be a massive hit. However, I didn’t believe anyone but him could pull it off. It wasn’t a difficult decision to reject it because I am his admirer.”

They shared the screen in the 1991 film Hum, and Amitabh revealed, “I think of Rajinikanth ji as a member of my family. We stay in touch and often talk. Sometimes he seeks advice, and vice versa.” Amitabh humorously mentioned that they don’t always follow each other’s advice. Despite differences, he thanked Rajini for being an incredible source of inspiration, noting his humble beginnings.
Hrithik Roshan, who acted alongside Rajinikanth in the 1986 film Bhagwaan Dada, shared insights in a 2017 interview. Hrithik recalled freely expressing himself to Rajinikanth on set, treating him like a friend. Despite being a child actor at the time, Hrithik admired Rajini’s graciousness in forgiving his mistakes. Hrithik fondly remembered Rajini’s supportive gestures, such as apologizing when a shot was cut to preserve Hrithik’s confidence.
