During a fast-paced segment on ShareChat, Raj was asked about his potential appearance on Koffee with Karan. He responded, “No one has benefited from being on Koffee with Karan.” When asked about his ideal female co-star in Bollywood, he expressed, “Deepika Padukone is the actress I’d choose to work alongside; she’s my favorite.” He also shared his admiration for certain celebrity couples, stating, “Shahid (Kapoor) and Mira (Rajput) are quite underrated. Ranveer might have overacted in Cirkus, but he remains my favorite actor.”
Koffee With Karan is known for its controversial statements made by celebrities, and it recently returned for a new season with an explosive first episode. The inaugural guests, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, generated mixed reactions as they discussed their relationship and marriage on the show.
Online criticism was directed at Deepika when she revealed that she had casually dated Ranveer. She explained, “I wanted to be single for a while because I had experienced difficult relationships. I was going through a phase where I said, ‘I just don’t want to be attached or committed.’ I had fun during that time. Then he entered my life, and I didn’t commit until he proposed to me. There wasn’t a formal commitment. Even though we technically could have seen other people, we kept coming back to each other.” Furthermore, Ranveer faced scrutiny for his account of how he met Deepika, which some believed resembled his previous confession about meeting his rumored ex-girlfriend, Anushka Sharma.
The controversy eventually subsided. The subsequent guests on Koffee With Karan were Sunny and Bobby Deol.
