Vijay Kiragandur from Hombale Films, the producer of Prashanth Neel’s Salaar, discussed the film’s release in a recent interview.
Vijay Kiragandur from Hombale Films shared some crucial details about Prashanth Neel’s upcoming film “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,” featuring Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, the producer revealed interesting insights about the project.
Salaar is distinct from Ugramm In 2014, Prashanth directed a film titled Ugramm, starring Srimurali and Tilak Shekar. The storyline revolved around a man protecting a girl from assailants. As Salaar involves two friends, similar to Ugramm, speculations arose about it being a remake. However, Vijay dispelled such notions, affirming, “Prashanth directed both Ugramm and KGF. He knows how to create something unique each time. So, there is no truth to rumors about Salaar being a remake.”
Astrology influenced the film’s release While Salaar could have been released for Pongal in January, Vijay expressed concerns about the crowded Telugu and Tamil film releases during that period. He also explained the decision to choose December 22, despite Dunki and Aquaman hitting theaters on December 21. “We finalized a date based on our beliefs,” he stated, adding, “We have been scheduling release dates according to astrology for a decade and will continue to do so.”
