The director of “Night at the Museum,” aged 55, felt a bit surprised after attending the Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Jets game at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on October 1.
Levy was in the company of Taylor Swift, aged 33, and many other top-tier Hollywood celebrities, including Hugh Jackman, aged 54, Sophie Turner, aged 27, and the admired couple Blake Lively, aged 36, and Ryan Reynolds, aged 46.
The Canadian film producer expressed to Variety on Thursday that it’s somewhat disheartening. He mentioned, “Even if I create 50 more successful movies and shows, people will still remember me as the guy in the orange suede jacket attending the Chiefs-Jets game with Taylor and others.”
Levy, who was invited to the game by his “very close friend” Reynolds and his “closest friend Hugh,” was looking forward to a fun night out with “the buddies.”
Instead, for a brief few hours, the well-known group appeared to have grabbed the world’s focus.
“We thought there might be others joining us, but we weren’t ready for the overwhelming attention that this event received,” recounted the director of “Deadpool” and “Stranger Things.”
“It was an enjoyable night, but I’ve met famous individuals before, and Taylor Swift is certainly a unique magnet for popular culture, unlike anyone else I’ve encountered.”
“I mentioned to Ryan and Blake during the ride to the stadium, ‘I’ve never been so aware of the need to choose my words carefully,'” he stated.
“When you attend a football game in a luxury box with Taylor, you must assume that you’re constantly on camera, and they have the capability to use slow motion to read lips. So, I made sure to speak in a clean and careful manner.”
After the game, Levy took to Instagram and expressed that “all future Sunday nights are ruined” after watching the Chiefs secure a 23-20 victory alongside one of the world’s most famous individuals.
Swift attended her second Chiefs game amid her widely-talked-about rumored relationship with 33-year-old tight end Travis Kelce. Just a week before, she made headlines by cheering for Kelce at a Chiefs vs. Bears game in the Kelce suite at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, alongside his mother, Donna Kelce. This was shared in a video on X (formerly known as Twitter), where she appeared very enthusiastic in her support for Kelce.
