Lava Blaze 2 Review: In a highly competitive market, finding a budget smartphone that encompasses essential features, reasonable pricing, and 5G connectivity demands extensive research.
Major players like Samsung and Xiaomi have been elevating the quality of features in their budget phone offerings, and Lava is striving to maintain a competitive edge in this sector. The company has recently elevated its game by introducing two new smartphone ranges, namely Lava Blaze 2 and Lava Blaze 2 Pro.
After using the Lava Blaze 2 for a couple of weeks, I have a lot to share about the innovations brought forth by the company. Even at first glance, the Lava Blaze 2 boasts all the essential features one might desire, including a spacious 6.56-inch display, a 50 MP primary camera, an aesthetically pleasing design, 5G connectivity, and more. However, the crucial question remains: does the Lava Blaze 2 deliver the necessary features within the sub-Rs. 10,000 category? Dive into our Lava Blaze 2 review to determine whether this smartphone is a worthy purchase or not.
At first sight, I was pleased with the smartphone’s glass back and a circular camera island supporting two camera lenses and a flashlight. However, the phone proved to be quite slippery, accumulating fingerprints and dust on the back, which felt undesirable. Consequently, using a smartphone case becomes essential to maintain the device’s aesthetic appeal. An outstanding feature of the smartphone is its blue ring light, which we will delve into later.
On the front, it boasts a 6.58-inch HD+ IPS display. With a 90Hz adaptive refresh rate, the navigation between apps is smooth, and gaming experiences are lag-free. However, considering the considerable size of the display, there is room for improvement in terms of display quality. It’s important to note that, being a budget phone, certain compromises are inevitable to achieve an overall balanced product for the targeted requirements.
On the right side of the phone, there is a fingerprint-cum-power button that swiftly unlocks the smartphone. On the left side, you’ll find a SIM and Micro SD card slot.
The smartphone is equipped with a dual-camera setup featuring a 50MP primary shooter. Despite its substantial size and optimal conditions, there were instances where its performance was only average even in well-lit environments. Various factors such as sensors, software, and lens quality contribute to this, showcasing potential compromises in overall quality. Nevertheless, the undeniable fact remains that it boasts a 50MP camera, even if it lacks some advanced features. While capturing a photo, the camera displays natural lighting, but post-capture, the colors may appear excessively sharp, diminishing the picture quality. The night camera disappoints by producing blurred and often noisy images.
On the positive side, the Lava Blaze 2 includes a commendable 8MP front camera that delivers satisfactory performance, especially in good lighting conditions. However, the front camera falls short in low-light scenarios.
Surprisingly, the video capabilities of the camera are noteworthy, capturing beautiful 1080p resolution videos. For those interested in videography, this aspect is worth closer consideration.
In summary, after thorough testing, I believe that within its price range, the camera performance is decent and suitable for capturing pictures for social media.
Let’s delve into the performance of the Lava Blaze 2, a crucial aspect in any smartphone. It is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset, efficiently handling daily tasks like social media scrolling, streaming on JioCinema or Netflix, and web browsing. During my usage, I didn’t face any issues with normal tasks.
Gaming on the Lava Blaze 2 was a positive experience, running games like Temple Run 2 smoothly with no lag. However, with more demanding games like Battlegrounds Mobile India or Farlight 84, there were minor frame drops and some heat.
The “Ring light” feature, while aesthetically pleasing, could have added more functionalities. Still, it serves as a unique selling point.
Sound performance was impressive, delivering crisp audio during music playback on YouTube. Songs like Heeriye by Jaslin Royal and Husn by Kinni Kinni by Diljeet Dosanjh, as well as Taylor Swift’s Anti-Hero and Lover, sounded great in speaker mode.
The Lava Blaze 2 operates on Android 13, promising 2 years of OS updates and three years of security updates.
In conclusion, the Lava Blaze 2, considering its pricing, offers exceptional performance. While there are compromises in the display and camera, it stands out in the sub-Rs.10000 segment. For those seeking a budget-friendly option with decent performance, the Lava Blaze 2 is a solid choice.
