India chose not to vote on a United Nations resolution urging an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi criticized Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a Congress general secretary, for expressing her dismay and embarrassment over India’s decision to abstain from voting on a United Nations resolution that called for an immediate humanitarian truce in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

“For those who feel ‘ashamed and shocked,’ it’s important to understand that India will always stand against terrorism. India’s Explanation of Vote made this very clear. Our stance on the Israel-Palestine matter remains unwavering and consistent,” the former Union minister shared a screenshot of India abstaining from the vote.
While criticizing the Congress leader, Naqvi stated, “Those who align with terrorism do so at their own risk. On a lighter note, Priyanka Ji, you should first educate yourself about the information posted on your social media account. It seems that people who are not aware of Congress’s historical positions on this issue are advising you. What’s even worse is that in an effort to make you appear ‘better’ than Rahul, they are making you look foolish.”
On a social media platform known as X, Vadra expressed, “”An eye for an eye makes the entire world blind” – Mahatma Gandhi. I’m astonished and embarrassed that our nation chose not to vote in favor of a ceasefire in Gaza. Our country’s inception was rooted in the values of non-violence and truth, values for which our freedom fighters sacrificed their lives. These values underpin our nation’s constitution and exemplify the moral fortitude that has influenced India’s role in the global community.”
