Bhajanlal Sharma, a first-time MLA from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan in Jaipur on Friday, December 15. The swearing-in ceremony, scheduled to take place in front of the iconic Albert Hall at noon, will also witness the oath-taking of deputies Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa. Governor Kalraj Mishra will administer the oath of office to all three.
The ceremony is expected to be attended by prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda, several union ministers, and chief ministers from various states. Massive security measures and seating arrangements have been put in place at the venue, adorned with posters and banners showcasing various central government welfare schemes and cutouts of the leaders.
Invitations have been extended to central leaders and state chief ministers for the event. Bhajanlal Sharma’s selection as the chief minister-designate was announced during a BJP Legislature Party meeting on Tuesday, attended by the party’s central observers Rajnath Singh, Saroj Pandey, and Vinod Tawde.

Vidhyadhar Nagar MLA Diya Kumari and Dudu MLA Bairwa have been named as the choices for deputy chief ministers, and Ajmer North MLA Vasudev Devnani has been appointed as the speaker of the assembly.
Bhajanlal Sharma hails from Bharatpur, an eastern district of Rajasthan, and enjoys significant support from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Currently serving as the BJP’s state general secretary, he holds a master’s degree in political science.
Sharma secured a decisive victory in the Sanganer assembly seat, garnering 145,162 votes, while his Indian National Congress (INC) opponent, Pushpendra Bhardwaj, received 97,081 votes.
In the November 25 assembly elections, the BJP won 115 seats, while the Congress secured 69 seats. The polling covered 199 of the 200 assembly seats in the state.
