Dawood Ibrahim was supposedly taken to the hospital after reports indicated that he had been poisoned. Yet, there has been no official verification regarding either his hospital stay or demise.
Dawood Ibrahim, the alleged mastermind behind the 1993 Mumbai blasts and a fugitive, is rumored to have passed away in a Karachi hospital on Sunday.
According to reliable sources, he was admitted after being poisoned, and it is believed that he died between 8 pm and 9 pm (IST).
Despite these reports, there has been no official confirmation of his death. Dawood, one of India’s most wanted terrorists, has been said to be residing in Pakistan, although the Pakistani government has consistently denied providing him shelter.
In January of this year, Ibrahim’s nephew reportedly informed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) that Dawood was living in Karachi and had entered into a second marriage.
The internet services in Pakistan experienced a nationwide disruption on Monday, fueling speculations about Dawood’s health.
However, some reports attributed the disruptions to a rally organized by the PTI.
In a video, Pakistani journalist Arzoo Kazmi suggested that the disruption of Twitter, Google, and YouTube services indicates an effort to conceal a significant incident. She also mentioned that Dawood is currently in a critical condition in the hospital.

Dawood, the mastermind behind the 1993 Mumbai bombings that claimed over 250 lives and injured thousands, led the international terrorist network known as ‘D Company.’ The National Investigating Agency (NIA) has linked the syndicate to various illicit activities, including drug trafficking, money laundering, extortion, and arms smuggling.
Dawood has been globally designated as a terrorist by both India and the United Nations, with a $25 million bounty on his head.
Dawood’s ascent from the impoverished Dongri area of Mumbai to becoming the kingpin of organized crime in the 90s has been a subject of significant interest.
Numerous films, such as Shootout at Lokhandwala and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, have depicted the life of India’s most feared gangster.
Born in 1955, Dawood grew up in Dongri, a central Mumbai slum, where his involvement in theft and criminal activities began during his childhood.
He quickly became a close associate of Haji Mastan, a prominent Mumbai underworld figure at that time.
Nevertheless, Dawood, an ambitious individual, eventually turned against Mastan, leading to the killing of his gang members and sparking widespread violence in Mumbai in 1984. Faced with the escalating gang rivalry, Dawood had no choice but to escape to Dubai.
In 1993, a year following the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya by activists of the Vishva Hindu Parishad and allied organizations, Mumbai was rocked by 13 bomb explosions, resulting in approximately 250 casualties.
Due to his involvement in the bombings, Dawood became a prime target for the FBI and Interpol, forcing him to flee Dubai to evade arrest.
It is said that he then sought asylum in Karachi, where the Pakistani government provided him with refuge.
