Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been accused of disclosing confidential documents.
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is facing charges of leaking classified documents, according to a prosecutor’s announcement on Monday. He is currently held in Adiala Jail. Imran Khan has been caught up in over 150 legal cases since his removal from office in April of the previous year. He argues that these cases are driven by political motives.
After his arrest, Imran Khan’s legal team expressed their intention to quickly file an appeal. Imran Khan, a former cricketer who transitioned into politics, was convicted on charges of unlawfully selling state gifts that he and his family had received during his tenure from 2018 to 2022. As a result, he was handed a five-year ban from participating in politics, effectively disqualifying him from future elections.
The Islamabad High Court has recently made a significant decision by suspending the conviction and three-year prison sentence of former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, in the Toshakhana corruption case.

In Islamabad, a lower court convicted Imran Khan, the 70-year-old leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on August 5th, sentencing him to three years in jail. The court found him guilty of unlawfully selling state gifts in a case commonly referred to as the Toshakhana corruption case. Additionally, the court ruled that he be disqualified from participating in politics for a five-year period.
This case was initiated by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in May, alleging that the Pakistan Prime Minister intentionally concealed information about the gifts he had retained from the Toshakhana. The Toshakhana is a repository where gifts presented to government officials during their foreign visits are stored. The Prime Minister was accused of withholding information about gifts received during his time in office.
The Toshakhana regulations dictate that details of gifts and presents given to government officials should be reported to the Cabinet Division. Imran Khan is facing various legal challenges related to his retention of these gifts, ultimately leading to his disqualification by the ECP.
