PM Modi visited Ayodhya and took a break to have tea at the residence of the 10th crore recipient of the Ujjwala scheme, inquiring about her health and well-being.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi surprised Meera Manjhi, a beneficiary of the Ujjwala Yojana, during his Ayodhya tour on Saturday, paying a visit to her residence and sharing tea. Speaking to news agency ANI, Manjhi expressed her happiness at the Prime Minister’s visit. She recounted welcoming PM Modi with folded hands and informing him about the advantages she gained through the PM Ujjwala Yojana.
“Initially, he arrived, sat down, and conversed with my children. I greeted him with folded hands and shared the benefits we received under this scheme. I mentioned receiving a house, gas connection, and free water supply. I am delighted that I can now cook using gas instead of a traditional stove,” she informed ANI.
Manjhi went on to share that PM Modi inquired about her lunch menu. “I informed him that I had prepared lentils, rice, vegetables, and tea. He suggested having tea during the winters, so I made him a cup of tea,” she said. Manjhi added that PM Modi remarked the tea was a bit sweeter, to which she responded, “That’s how I make tea.”
Meera Manjhi, residing in Ayodhya with her family, has received an invitation to attend the Ram Temple inauguration event on January 22. Identified as the 10 croreth beneficiary of the PM Ujjwala Yojana, Meera’s encounter with Prime Minister Modi was shared by Union Minister Smriti Irani in a video. During his visit to Meera’s house, PM Modi was pleased to meet her and discussed her participation in the Ujjawala scheme. Meera expressed her happiness about receiving a house under the Awas scheme during the encounter with the Prime Minister.
Reports indicate that PM Modi’s visit to Meera Manjhi’s residence occurred as he was returning from the railway station. The Prime Minister was seen engaging in friendly conversations and inquiring about Meera’s well-being over a cup of tea. The narrow streets of the temple town were filled with a large crowd greeting PM Modi during his walk.
During his visit to Ayodhya, PM Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Ayodhya railway station, flagged off two Amrit Bharat and six Vande Bharat trains, inaugurated the Maharshi Valmiki airport, and laid the foundation stone for various other development projects on the same day.
